Why Choose R.P.M?
In renting a property through us, you are assured of the professionalism and protection of an ARLA Propertymark member agent, backed by a client money protection scheme (through ARLA Propertymark). We are also members of the Property Ombudsman Scheme for Lettings (www.tpos.co.uk).
We will take you through the letting process in its entirety, from your first enquiry to setting up your utility accounts when you have moved into your new home.
An outline of the Letting Process:- Contact us to register your requirements. We will send you email alerts of all new properties that meet your criteria. You can register here.
- Arrange viewings at properties that interest you, at a time to suite you.
- When you have seen a property that you would like to rent, the completion of a simple application form will allow us to carry out credit checks and check your other references.
- We will negotiate with the landlord over any points that need agreement.
- When we have received satisfactory credit and reference reports, we will write to you with an offer of a tenancy and a copy of the agreement for you to read.
- A tenancy start date will be agreed with you and we will meet you at the property on the agreed date to carry out the tenancy check-in, at which time we will take meter readings and you will be able to check the inventory.
- We will agree a method of paying the rent with you. This is normally done by standing order.
- We will notify the local authority and utility companies that you have moved in, so that the Council Tax, electricity, gas and water accounts are set up for you.
- We will register your tenancy deposit with The Dispute Service and forward a copy of the registration certificate to you.
When you have moved in:-
If your landlord has instructed us to manage the property, you can relax with the knowledge that there is a list of highly professional contractors ready to fix any maintenance issues.
Regardless of whether we are managing your tenancy, or not, you can always contact us for advice.
